New international project kicks off: Front-Line Leaders of the Future

he future of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector depends on strong and capable leaders. This is why the Front-Line Leaders of the Future (F-LineLead) Erasmus+ project has officially kicked off, aiming to strengthen leadership and management capacities across the European VET sector.

Led by the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the 25-month project brings together a strong European partnership with organisations Training Centre for Personal Development (Bulgaria), Wrap E (Croatia), Epimorfitiki Kilkis (Greece), Fundacja Ornament (Poland) and Vibe Madeira (Portugal). F-LineLead focuses on front-line leaders who often step into managerial roles without formal leadership training — so-called “accidental managers”, who represent as much as 82% of managers in Europe.

The project supports current and aspiring VET front-line leaders, as well as trainers and educators involved in leadership development. Participants will enhance key competencies such as communication, team management, strategic thinking and inclusive leadership through a flexible e-learning environment.

By strengthening leadership skills at operational level, F-LineLead aims to improve staff engagement, organisational performance and long-term sustainability within VET institutions. At European level, the project contributes to closing the leadership skills gap and offers a scalable training model adaptable across different countries.

The first phase of the project focuses on a comprehensive market and needs assessment in all six partner countries. We will continuously share updates on key milestones and results — stay tuned for more updates!
