Business Networking Opportunities

On 31 March 2026, the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BKIK), in cooperation with the Embassy of Ecuador, organized a chamber visit of an Ecuadorian food industry delegation, attended by representatives of nearly 20 Hungarian companies. The aim of the event was to promote business relations between Ecuadorian exporting companies and Hungarian firms, as well as to explore concrete opportunities for cooperation.

In recent years, BKIK has placed increasing emphasis on strengthening economic relations with the Latin American region, with last year’s jointly organized business forum with Ecuador marking an important milestone. The current event represents another step in this partnership, further deepening economic cooperation between the two countries.

The event was opened by Angéla Szatmáry-Jähl, President of the Trade Division of BKIK; Péter Babák, Head of the International Relations Office of BKIK; and H.E. Cynthia Marie Mayer Zavala, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Ecuador. In their opening remarks, they highlighted the growing international significance of Ecuador’s food industry, as well as the further opportunities inherent in Hungarian–Ecuadorian economic relations. The realization of the event was also supported by Dr. József Sztranyák, Latin American Advisor and President of the Economic Services Division of BKIK.

Following the opening speeches, bilateral B2B business meetings began with the members of the Ecuadorian food industry delegation. The meetings were characterized by successful and constructive professional discussions, providing participants with the opportunity to engage in direct negotiations.

The Ecuadorian companies—Pacific Fields S.A., Ecuatoriana de Chocolates, D Leo Fruit, and Naniecheandia—presented their offerings in premium gluten-free snacks, tropical fruits, as well as cocoa and chocolate products, expressing openness to establishing new partnerships in Hungary. The direct business negotiations contributed to the development of concrete partnerships and laid the foundation for future cooperation.

At the end of the event, participants continued their discussions in an informal setting over a buffet lunch, further strengthening professional networking. The openness and supportive approach demonstrated by the Embassy also contributed to the success of the event. Participants agreed that meetings of this kind play an important role in developing Hungarian–Ecuadorian business relations.
