A delegation organised by the Innovation College of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BKIK) and the iLex Innovation Marketplace visited Polish innovation institutions and business organisations between 27–29 October 2025 in Katowice and Kraków, in southern Poland. The delegation was led by Dr Mariann Ritter, Chair of the BKIK Innovation College and CEO of iLex High-Tech Zrt.
The delegation included 12 Hungarian innovation-driven companies, which identified promising cooperation opportunities with their Polish partners, as well as potential directions for joint international project applications (Horizon Europe, EIT).
The delegation participated in the 15th European Congress of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (Europejski Kongres Małych i Średnich Przedsiębiorstw) held in Katowice, where the “Doing Business in Hungary” professional session attracted significant interest.
Institutional visits:
- Łukasiewicz – EMAG Institute of Innovative Technologies (Katowice)
- Łukasiewicz – IMŻ Institute of Ferrous Metallurgy (Gliwice/Katowice region)
- Łukasiewicz – ICiMB Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials (Kraków)
As a result of the delegation’s visit, future cooperation is taking shape in multiple fields. Preparations have begun for strategic innovation partnerships, joint R&D and technology-transfer projects, and participants have established new business and scientific connections.

A shared intention was also formed to establish close, long-term institutional cooperation with the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Katowice, which the parties plan to formalise in a cooperation agreement in the first half of 2026 in Budapest.
The delegation of BKIK and the iLex Innovation Marketplace has successfully laid the foundations for a new system of Hungarian–Polish innovation cooperation with leading research centres and economic organisations in southern Poland.
