Romania ranks 3rd-4th for Hungarian exports and 6th for Hungarian capital investment. Several large Hungarian industrial enterprises are already present in Romania, such as Mol, OTP and Richter.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary provides a significant amount of money each year for Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises to make investments in Romania. From this budget, which expands year by year, companies can receive support through various grant schemes (mostly EU grants). Hungarian companies are project implementers and suppliers in this case, which is also beneficial for Romania because taxation and employment take palace there.
