Fintech, the health industry, sustainable technologies and R&D in focus

The “United Kingdom and Ireland Business Forum 2025,” organised by the PP Conference Centre with the professional support of the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented foreign market opportunities for Hungarian enterprises.

Within the scope of its International Relations Office, BKIK has for years played an important role in supporting the foreign market ambitions of domestic businesses. This includes knowledge transfer, business networking, and the coordination of participation at international professional events such as London Tech Week or the Dublin Tech Summit.

At the 12 June forum, domestic and international experts, prominent business leaders and foreign trade diplomats shared their experience and insights on strategic market-entry opportunities, current economic trends and the key sectors of the future. Special focus was given to fintech, the health industry, sustainable technologies and research & development.

Péter Keszthelyi, Vice-Chair of BKIK’s International and Foreign Trade College, stressed in his speech:

“Today, the United Kingdom is not only a European but a global business bridgehead. Entering the market through a British company can provide access to Commonwealth countries and to nations in the Pacific region — especially key markets such as India, Singapore and Australia. At the same time, significant opportunities also lie in North America, in both Canada and the USA.

A shared language, the Anglo-Saxon legal system and historical ties provide a stable, predictable and reliable business environment for Hungarian enterprises. One of the central topics of the forum was London’s financial role, as the city remains the world’s second most important financial centre after New York, and currently also holds a leading position in the fintech sector.”*

The event also discussed the unique economic and geopolitical situation of Northern Ireland, which, under the agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom, forms a special connection point between the two markets. Presentations also covered programmes supporting innovation and R&D, as well as funding schemes available specifically for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The cooperation between the PP Conference Centre and the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry continues with the next professional event: Where’s the Money From? 2025. The conference will take place on 19 June 2025, focusing on financing opportunities for Hungarian micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, grant schemes and capital-attraction strategies.
