To support domestic SMEs, the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a delegation of nearly 30 participants from 10 Hungarian companies to attend the Barcelona Smart City Expo World Congress from November 5–7, 2024. The BKIK was represented with a 60-square-meter stand, where, alongside Budapest-based businesses, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County and the Budapest Enterprise Agency were also present.
The Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) is a leading international forum for urban innovation and smart solutions. The event provides an opportunity for city administrations and companies to showcase the latest technological developments in sustainability, mobility, and quality of life. It also serves as an excellent platform for professional networking and cross-sector collaboration. The expo creates an environment where innovation, forward-looking solutions, and sustainable urban development strategies meet in one place.
Throughout the event, Hungarian companies participated in several accompanying professional programs and held multiple pre-arranged meetings. A highlight was the networking event organized by the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and the discussions with partners from Canada, Hong Kong, the Czech Republic, and the United States.
The BCCI continuously monitors the participants' successes and is ready to provide support if needed. The chamber, in collaboration with other organizations, plans a larger presence at the expo in 2025.
